In March 2025, the Foundation of Indian-Americans New England hosted a celebration at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum to honor women leaders from diverse fields. The event featured an interactive video session where women leaders shared their experiences, aligning with the theme inspired by President Kennedy's words: "Ask not what your country can do for you; Ask what you can do for your country!" The ceremony recognized women for their contributions in entrepreneurship, education, healthcare, arts, fashion, and community service.
In July 2025, members of the Indian diaspora in New England gathered at the Boston Marriott Burlington for a leadership reception and gala titled "One Tablet, Infinite Futures: Transforming India’s Education." Organized by Vidya Bharati USA, the event highlighted efforts to bring tech-enabled learning to underserved schools in India. Vidya Bharati, founded in 1952, operates over 12,000 schools across 682 districts, serving 3.2 million students. The initiative focuses on integrating technology to enhance educational outcomes, with plans to expand digital learning ecosystems in additional schools.
In February 2025, the FIA New England honored Saurabh Dwivedi, Editor-in-Chief of The Lallan Top, for his contributions to journalism. The event, held in Quincy, Boston, was attended by leaders from various community organizations. During the gathering, Dwivedi announced the launch of "Pragyan," a platform dedicated to supporting research scholars and fostering collaborative scholarly work. He also shared a curated list of 20 must-read books that have significantly influenced his personal and professional journey.
In March 2024, over 50 community and cultural organizations from New England extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed Consul General of India, Binaya Srikant Pradhan. Hosted by the FIA New England, the reception in Massachusetts drew an audience of over 200 individuals representing various local Indian groups. The event featured cultural performances and an interactive session with Consul General Pradhan, who addressed topics of significance and engaged directly with the attendees. He assured his commitment to establishing a VFS Service Center in the Boston area and discussed the possibility of a direct flight from Boston to India.
Additionally, in July 2023, the New England Indian American community hosted a fundraising event for Congressman Ro Khanna, a member of the "samosa caucus" representing Silicon Valley. The event, held at the Clay Oven restaurant in Lexington, Massachusetts, was attended by distinguished business and community leaders. Congressman Khanna emphasized the importance of recognizing India's elected leaders and discussed the evolving relationship between India and the United States. The gathering underscored the cohesive spirit and vibrant engagement of the New England Indian community in strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.
